2016 ACCCS Convention
September 13-14 Williamsburg, VA
By Jerry Ballard
Vice President and Convention Organizer
Our bi-annual convention will be at the top historical destination in the U. S. I remember when I moved to Virginia 30 years ago, the Williamsburg Historical Foundation’s annual budget was 293 million dollars, so I knew it was a significant tourist destination. It has improved since then and archaeological work continues at Jamestown. The attachment contains hot links to what to see and do in the Williamsburg area.
We will be at The Colonies at Williamsburg. Call Kathleen Walden at 757-253-9100×1014 to make reservations. Say that you are with the ACCCS Group, to get the discounted rates. This is a timeshare group of two bedroom, two bath suites. Each suite has a full kitchen. The suite rates are $125 plus taxes ($140.75 total) per day, for a minimum of two days stay. These rates are good for the night of September 11 (Sunday) through the night of September 15 (Thursday). You have to reserve by August 21 to get these rates. You will put up a one night deposit at reservation time (refundable if cancelled by 4 pm a week ahead). Do not call the resort directly for these rates.
To find out how nice this facility is, go to booking.com, enter The Colonies at Williamsburg and click search. It is about six miles from the historic district.
You can fly into Richmond, Norfolk or Newport News/Williamsburg airports. We will be about 40 minutes from the Richmond airport, 35 minutes from the Newport News/Williamsburg airport and one hour from the Norfolk airport.
